FAQ

Q: Why don't I remember this from the 1980's?
A: Because although it was filmed back then it was not released until 2006 + 2008. LEARN MORE :

Q: Gee I think that looks like an 'ecks wyng', why?
A: Well, your vision is off. Spacecraft identification/target acquisition/directing laser fire would not be a wise career choice for you. We're pretty sure that the great body of Film work known as Science Fiction was NOT invented in 1977. If you choose to believe that any spacecraft from any other movie with an engine, cockpit, and wings has got to be an 'ecks wyng' than you are under the power of the 'schwartz'. If you are primarily a modern big box office only fan, than Saga of a Crew is not for you. Please leave now. The remaining questions shall only pertain to the reality that this Film was shot on a 13K budget and hopes to entertain the 'Comprehensive Science Fiction Fan'.
Q: Come again, *'Comprehensive Science Fiction Fan'?
A: If you are still reading this and you haven't taken our kind invitation to leave than hopefully you are a *C.S.F.F. without knowing it. What we mean is if you can relate to the answer above and can also indulge, truly enjoy, or truly enjoy ridiculing, b-movies, low budget cheese, and can appreciate the 'attempt', as well as revel in mainstream spectacle, than you are a C.S.F.F. If you have pigeon holed yourself into the mainstream Hollywood category only, and you find anything else repulsive, or even object to it's right to exist, than you are not a C.S.F.F and you will never get it - When are you going?
Q: Can you tell me about the picture quality and can this be improved.
A: Saga of a Crew was digitally remastered to DVD using a camera by us in 2006 and 2008 to produce the current DVD. Later the opening (scene 1) was subjected to a commercial quality HD frame by frame scanning AND digital restoration to remove all dirt, scratches and artifacts from the picture with most impressive results. Applying this process to the entire Film would be expensive for us but it is our highest desire. There is also nearly 1000 feet of surplus footage which might be hiding a few more minor plot elements to incorporate or could yield fascinating special features material for a new HD RESTORED release.

Q: So, why wasn't this ever 'distributed' ?
A: Oh, contraire, IT WAS! The 2008 Special Edition did achieve a small 'distribution deal' of about 30 (thirty) DVDs with that large DVD rental company. Within a weeks of it's release to the world via this DVD rental vehicle, the illegal downloads of our little Film began proliferating across the internet. Hollywood moguls do invest millions to produce Films and buy advertising knowing they shall be making many millions more at the box office and later via millions of DVDs in the retail realm. Having already made enormous profits they can absorb some collateral damage from a few illegal downloads and employ stables full of attorneys which combat it. For Daniel R. Christopher Production - whom refuse to or cannot afford to kneel before the alter of the advertising/legal machine - the damage is done! - or to be more politically correct - 'thank you for sharing'. We have covered this travesty in this excellent press release:

Q: Are there any plans to further revise the Film?
A: I thought you knew us better by now. Of course there are always plans, because as one comment correctly pointed out, the Producer is obsessed with the Film. The 40th Anniversary of the original shooting shall be in 2024. We hope to have the original footage conserved and restored in the near future. It would be nice to have a 40th Anniversary Restored Directors Cut Edition with a lot of bonus features.
